"Thomas Edison State University (TESU) is a recipient of a grant from the Department of Education (DOE) and the Office of the Secretary of Higher Education (OSHE). The grant, part of the State Dual Enrollment Pilot Program, aims to create and expand high-quality dual enrollment programs across New Jersey school districts...TESU has been selected to collaborate with Hillside Public School District for the Career Connections Carpenter’s Pre-Apprenticeship Program currently being implemented at Hillside. Under this partnership, TESU has formed an articulation agreement with Hillside Public School District. Through TESU’s commitment related to prior learning, TESU recognizes the Career Connections program as equivalent to 16 college-level credits, applicable toward a certificate, associate or bachelor’s program either at TESU or transferrable to another institution." Sconiers, DSW, LCSW (Dr. S) is honored and excited to propose a partnership between New Steps Counseling, LLC/Mental-Hop and the Hillside School District to bring the Mental-Hop Program to Hillside High School. Mental-Hop is Mental-Health Education, Wellness, and Healing through Hip-Hop Culture! On Thursday 2/29 and Friday 3/1 Freshmen and Sophomores attended the presentation “Where is the Love”? "Where is the Love" is a School-wide assembly that takes students on a journey to discover the power of love, empathy, and compassion for others. This morning, (2/26/2024) The Hillside High School Dance Ensemble, led by Ms. Love, performed at Maher Terminals for the U.S. Customs and Border Protection's (CBP) Black History Month Celebration! The Dance team did an outstanding job opening and closing the event, and received praise from all the officers in attendance as well as Newark Mayor, Mr. Ras Baraka, who was the keynote speaker for the event!
