Ms. Modena and Mrs. Hildebrandt’s kindergarten students teamed up to celebrate Earth Day by going on a special nature walk around the school. As partners, the children explored their surroundings and searched for different items in nature, such as leaves, flowers, and rocks. This hands-on activity helped students build observation skills while learning to appreciate the environment around them.

Experiences like this are important in school because they connect classroom learning to the real world. Through the nature walk, students practiced working together, sharing ideas, and developing early science skills like noticing patterns and describing what they see. Most importantly, they began to understand how to care for the Earth and why protecting our environment matters and of course, having fun!
